Tattered
This dress and the collection I have designed to go with it focuses on the relationship between classes with the combination of luxurious fabrics and silhouettes, with the rough and degraded quality of the fabric, referencing the history of nobles and commoners.

Tired
In this collection I wanted to portray the restrictive and unhealthy societal expectations of the world on us all. I wanted to explore the mental strain of being washed of all of our natural creativity and pushed to work for a “better” life that is now unobtainable.
I referenced historical and psychiatric wear to draw similarities between the traditional office environment where you are strapped to your chair all day and the restrictive and inhumane treatment historically given by psychiatric institutions. I also wanted to use different thrifted button up office shirts as my choice of fabric to represent the disorientation of our minds as we grow up and are forced to channel our minds in to work instead of our passions.
