American Queer Hate
36 x 48
Two figures are depicted on a white ledge. One figure kneels in a draped Roman-style toga made from an American flag. He holds a long sword in his hand that is aimed at and crosses the face of the second figure, covering their mouth. The second figure has his legs dangling off the ledge and sits on part of the first figures American flag toga. His eyes are covered in a blindfold, and he reclines back without a clue as a scale is balanced on his knee.
This piece analyzes the relationship between the United States government, its citizens, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Specifically, this piece talks about how the citizens of the United States and the LGBTQIA+ community are constantly hurt by our own government, which is supposed to protect us. Justice is now in our hands, yet some of us are blind to this or deliberately ignorant of the governments neglect of our rights to our own bodies and happiness.

People's Influence
22 x 28
A figure sits on pedestal, covered in fabric rests his head on the finger of a large hand. The color from the tip of the finger bleeds into the upper part of the figures body and the fabric.
This artwork explores the want to fit into society. I referenced the creation of Adam in the composition of the pieces to show the want to find something to connect to. In these situations we are easily influenced by others in our vulnerable state, with the hand being visibly larger than the figure to show the influence others opinions have on our identity.

Unloveable
30 x 48
Two figures are in embrace with one depicted in a warm bright almost cautionary red, while the other blends into the blue cool toned background. They are located next to the corner of a bed with the sheets filled down the side and a ring necklace lays on the mattress. The areas where the transparent figure touches the red figure is blue, while the red figure is not touching anything with his hands.
This piece is about how loneliness renders you prone to falling into toxic situations such as the gay hookup culture and situation-ships in which the attention that you receive is only used to take advantage of your vulnerable state. In these situations we often manipulate ourselves into thinking the connection we feel if more than just lust when the other participant is not really there for you emotionally.

Unprepared
30 x 40
A figure sitting closely at a ledge as they are covered by a piece of cloth, holding paint brushes and a palette with one hand and finishing painting themselves with the other. The blank areas with no progress are shown in certain parts of the painting such as the face, leg, and the bottom right corner, while some areas are painted only in black and white and others fully rendered in color.
Many of my pieces explore the idea of vulnerability, often letting the viewer in on an intimate moment in my artworks. Through the figure sitting dangerously close to the ledge, I wanted to convey how fast youth ends as we are pushed out of our teenage years into adulthood while still having to establish ourselves in terms of who we are and what we want to do, which is shown through the unfinished parts of the painting that was inspired by many unfinished portraits throughout history.

Who am I?
22 x 28
multiples portraits and depictions of different people with an assortment of different arms that all create the composition of the piece.
This piece is a revision of the previous art piece "Unprepared". The figures of my friends reflects what makes me, me. The people we've met, and the things we've done and felt, are what makes us who we are.

Invitation
22 x 28
A figure in Ancient Greek clothing reclining on a chaise lounge with large fluffy pillows reminiscent of “Olympia” by Monet, and Titians “Venus of Urbino”. The viewer looks up towards the figure from the foot of the chaise lounge to his legs and then his arm crossed over his leg.
This piece is a commentary on how we in the gay community often have to put on a show of sensuality and advertise ourselves just for a chance at love and acceptance from our own community.

Desolate Gathering
36 x 24
A figure rendered in a bright orange-red color with a glass in his hand sitting on a couch. The orange-red figure sits with his legs crossed and with his glass to his lips, seemingly content with entertaining himself. He is surrounded by dark figures rendered in dark browns and blues who are not interacting with him, blending into the background of the piece.
This piece depicts the overall isolation of the LGBTQIA+ community in social functions and in the world. The difference in color between the figures are meant to create a sense of loneliness within the orange-red figure and cause the figure to look almost out of place in the dim lit room surrounded by the blue toned figures who do not seem to acknowledge his existence.

Family Dynamics
30 x 24
A table with a bowl titled over, spilling out eight red apples and one green browning apple.
This still-life explores the feeling of not fitting in with the expectations to be "normal" of my family. While the rest of the red apples are so brightly red they look almost toxic, the green one is the only apple that actually lets itself naturally decomposing.

The Worlds View of Femininity
48 x 30
A depiction of a figure undressing in a confined space. The figure takes off their red Robe de Cour bodice with arrows imbedded in it as it reveals skin irritations underneath from the boning.
This was made back during a time when I presented more femininely than I do now, but it still resonates with me deeply. The red symbolizes the power and strength of the figure, and the arrows represent the world’s views. Overall this piece was supposed to be a moment where I let myself be vulnerable to the viewer instead of constantly defending myself from others.
